Founder's Day: Still Learning, Still Creating, Still Showing Up

TheDogBFF Barkerie

Founder's Day feels a little different when you're still in the kitchen, still learning, still creating, and still showing up with flour on your apron and dreams in your heart. Today, I'm reflecting on what it means to build TheDogBFF Barkerie—not as a finished product, but as a living, breathing journey that continues to evolve every single day.

How It All Started

This pet bakery began with one simple idea: make treats I'd feel good giving my own dog. I wanted to create something that didn't just taste good, but felt good—made with intention, care, and ingredients I could actually pronounce. But as the idea grew, so did my vision. I didn't just want to make treats; I wanted to build a business that fit real life, family life, and big dreams all at the same time. A business that proved you don't have to choose between doing what you love and living the life you want.

The Real Journey

Let me be honest—it hasn't all been picture-perfect Instagram moments. There have been messy days when recipes didn't work out. There have been long nights spent testing batches and tweaking formulas. There have been pauses when I needed to step back, pivots when the plan changed, and moments where I questioned everything. There were times when doubt crept in and whispered that maybe this wasn't sustainable, maybe I was crazy for trying.

But then an order would come in. A customer would send a photo of their pup happily munching on a treat. A message would arrive saying how much their dog loved TheDogBFF Barkerie. Those moments reminded me exactly why I started.

Progress Over Perfection

Today isn't about celebrating perfection. It's about celebrating progress. It's about choosing to keep going, even when the path isn't clear. It's about showing up in the kitchen, day after day, committed to making something meaningful.

Thank You

To everyone who has supported this journey—thank you. Thank you for believing in handmade, small-batch, simple-ingredient treats made with intention. Thank you for supporting a small business built on passion and purpose.

Here's to building something meaningful—one batch, one pup, one day at a time. 🐶✨
